way past time for a new phone.

So my phone is doing this spazy thing right now where it decides to die ALWAYS. I barely have to do anything with it and the battery is dead. It's about two years old now, and it's a Blackberry Pearl (enough said), so I am ready to shed it and move on to better things. My contract is supposed to me up in March anyway, so I go looking on the Telus website today to see what new plans and phone I want to look into. I thought about it a little bit earlier this week, and I got my phone in March 2007, but part way through my contract we added my Mom onto the same plan as me, and that's when I changed my plan and went with a smartphone package, and the timing of our contracts really threw me off. So since January of 2009 I have been paying a lot for my phone bill, and since about 6 months ago I have absolutely had it with this phone and this bill and with Telus. Let me tell you I CANNOT wait til I can get a new one and get out of this situation.

Funny Story:

I'm browsing around Telus today and stumble on my account details. I have been a customer with Telus since March 2007. Wait a minute, isn't that 4 years ago? Aren't I only in a 3 year contract? That's all I signed up for! So I call Telus, and the girl on the phone tells me, get this: I'VE BEEN OUT OF IT FOR A WHOLE YEAR NOW! I have been voluntarily paying Telus an outrageous amount per month, and putting up with the crapiest phone around for 1 whole extra and unnecessary year. So I first find out about this and I am livid. I was actually so frustrated with myself. How did my simple math (2011-2007=4 NOT 3) fail me so badly, and how did I let it go on for this long. Then after that, I realized, "that's just life, I'll deal with it" and I felt really embarrassed telling Eric about it. I just could not believe I had done that, especially when I have literally been SO anxious to get out of it. But now all of those feelings are gone, and I am just SO excited to go get a new phone this week. I just want something simple, no Blackberry or iPhone or anything silly like that, just something easy. Any suggestions? Now I am just laughing at this wonderful story I get to share with all of you. I just think it's great!
I LOVE brand new phones, and can't wait to get one!
